Resilient Roots & Thriving Communities
A Farmer’s Share is a women-led Public Benefit Corporation dedicated to transforming the U.S. food system through innovative, scalable solutions that empower small family farms and communities. Guided by principles of care, collectivity, transparency, and social impact, we aim to foster a resilient food ecosystem that restores trust and equity.

Our Mission, Vision & Values
Our mission is to reshape the U.S. food system and revitalize rural communities by uniting change-makers to pool assets, empower small family farmers and processors, and enhance local food access through scalable, technology-enabled solutions that prioritize care, collectivity, transparency, and social impact.
A Farmer’s Share envisions an equitable food system where small family farmers, food system actors and communities lead with confidence, supported by transparent, sustainable practices that revitalize rural economies, ensure food security, and instill trust in every harvest, delivering equitable benefits to all.
A Farmer’s Share advances equitable prosperity by empowering 500 farming communities and influencing 5 million lives by 2030, cultivating gender-diverse networks, strengthening rural economies, and promoting environmental stewardship through transparent, community-centered solutions rooted in care.

Challenges Facing the US Food System
The U.S. food system is broken, making it hard for everyone to get healthy food and for small farmers to thrive. It’s a messy system where farmers, stores, lawmakers, and shoppers aren’t working together. This hurts small family farms and city communities the most, creating unfair challenges, unhealthy diets, and economic struggles.
Big companies are taking over farming, pushing small farms out and weakening rural towns. In cities, many people can’t find fresh, affordable food, leading to poor health. Without better teamwork and planning among everyone involved, these problems will keep growing, harming both rural and urban areas.

Our Goals
By 2030, our goal is to expand our impact by offering consultancy, grant management, and contract management services. We will focus on creating innovative strategies to empower small and medium-sized enterprises in the food sector while helping farming communities scale their technologies and operations to foster sustainable and prosperous agricultural ecosystems.
500

Our Offerings
The U.S. food system’s fragmentation demands a collaborative, community-driven approach that unites diverse stakeholders including farmers, retailers, policymakers, non-profits, and consumers into a resilient network. A Farmer’s Share serves as the connective fiber, addressing systemic failures through four strategic programmatic areas: Grow Together Advising, Impact Blueprint Reservoir, The Commons Lab, and the Igniting Change Collective. These areas of work aim to collectively restore equity, sustainability, and vitality to rural and urban communities by fostering partnerships, innovation, and inclusive governance. These approaches aim to collectively restore equity, sustainability, and vitality to rural and urban communities by fostering partnerships, innovation, and inclusive governance.
Grow Together Advising
A Farmer’s Share offers advisory consulting services to farms, non-profits, and food system stakeholders. We provide technical
guidance and connect clients to specialized service providers. Our services include grant navigation, market access facilitation,
gap analyses, regulatory compliance, regenerative agriculture transitions, and big data solutions. We offer technical training
to optimize operations and strengthen connections to markets, resources, and networks.
Impact Blueprint Reservior
The Impact Blueprint Reservoir identifies scalable models, and circular economy approaches with proven success. A Farmer’s Share develops training, toolkits, and franchise models to scale these solutions or support stakeholders in adopting circular, resilient practices, driving local jobs, markets, and sustainability while countering corporate consolidation’s toll on rural communities and enhancing urban food access through collaborative, economically
sustainable networks.
The Commons Lab
The Commons Lab identifies gaps in the food system, and co-creates scalable, systemic solutions to bridge deficiencies in infrastructure, technology, and access. Through our lab, we address critical needs—such as blockchain for supply chain transparency, localized processing hubs, and emergency food aid systems—ensuring resilience and equity for farmers, processors, and underserved communities through unique funding mechanisms.
Igniting Change Collective
Igniting Change Collective prioritizes convening farmers, advocates, policymakers, and experts to co-create solutions and forge resilient food system networks through inclusive workshops, training, convenings, and thought leadership.

Small Family & BIPOC Farms Tax Credit
The BIPOC Tax Credit Program from A Farmer’s Share helps small family and BIPOC farmers save money on taxes by using the natural nutrients in their soil. We check your soil, give you reports to use for taxes, and help you figure out how to make more money from your farm. We also connect you with local groups, honest CPAs who know taxes, and ways to sell your crops nearby. Our program aims to help you save money, make your farm and family financially resilient, and build a fair, healthy food system in your community.
